Cooper’s Hill NGOC Galoppen

A few Sarum stalwarts journeyed to Cooper’s Hill near Prinknash Monastery for the NGOC galoppen on Sunday. Drivers and pedestrians alike enjoyed some black ice skating in the Car Park but a long climb up to the start made you warm enough, just, on a cold and sunny day. Despite the freezing temperatures the wood ( a new map) was quite muddy and slippery.
Some family rivalries led to Tom Butt (2nd) beating dad Jeff (41st) on the Blue course. On the Green course Hazel Cutler (27th) beat dad Keith (5oth) whilst on short green Charlotte Thornton (15th) beat Ricky (24th) and Peter Hambleton (1st) came home ahead Joan (27th). Adrian Dawson (30th S.G.) completed the Sarum turnout.
