Sarum will be putting on an event on New Years Day again next year. A change of venue as we plan to incorporate Urban with woodland and return to Tinneys Firs with Woodfalls, Downton – an updated map that hasn’t been used for a few years. This will be a Score event planned by one of our Club Junior Champions, Alice Butt!
Venue: Villages of Morgans Vale, Redlynch and Woodfalls plus Tinney’s Firs wood
Parking: Assembly and car park at Redlynch Sports and Social Club (Woodfalls Cross,
The Ridge, Woodfalls, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP5 2LN) GR SU 198197 (O/S map 130).
Terrain: Urban running through villages of Morgans Vale, Redlynch and Woodfalls plus mixed ancient wood with extensive path network on a slope in Tinney’s Firs.
Map: 1:5,000; 2.5m contours. 150 Score maps available.
Courses: 1 hour Score (visit as many controls as possible in the hour). Juniors under age 16 entering the score event, must be accompanied by an adult. A yellow course will be provided also in Tinney’s Firs only.
Start/ Finish: Score Start is opposite the Woodfalls Post Office. Yellow Start is gate to field next to Post Office Car Park. Finish for both courses is on the Redlynch playing Fields. Times: Registration: 1135 – 1225 ; Score Starts: 1200 – 1230 ; Yellow Starts 1140-1230. Courses close at 1330
Entry on the Day: Seniors £5, Juniors £2
E-Cards: An EMIT card is required to be able to enter and may be hired for £1. Note lost EMIT cards will be charged at £40.
Dogs: No dogs permitted in the car park or on the playing fields please. Dogs permitted in Tinney’s Firs.
Facilities: Toilets, showers and changing room available; 1st Aid; No refreshments are provided but the Social Club will be open for coffees, teas and other drinks and the Woodfalls Inn is next door to the car park. Competitors will be most welcome at both venues.
