Saturday started damp & chilly; we had to patch up the road, where Forestry vehicles had gouged out a section of the track, before we could let anybody travel up to the competition area but finally, the sun came out and the competitors began to arrive and our event was underway. This was the same event we had had to cancel last year, due to the awful weather, so we were pleased that the weather conditions were so much better this year! In the woods , things were rather muddy, due to much very recent Forestry work but there were still several really runnable areas, full of sunshine! It was great to see so many children running too!
The Night O had only a handful of runners – many of whom stayed to help us collect controls in, so we say many thanks to them – much appreciated!
The Results for both events are attached here:
Sarum Orienteering – Dorset Schools & limited Colour Coded event – Results – Vernditch Woods
Sarum Orienteering Club – Wessex Night O – Vernditch – these are provisional and require the Bonus points to be added.
