Sarum AGM 2020

Zoom in on Sarum’s first virtual AGM

For the first, and hopefully the only, time the Sarum AGM, on October 20th 2020, was held courtesy of Zoom.  Although lacking opportunity for the usual social interaction there was a good turnout.  With Chris Huthwaite acting as host for the meeting outgoing Chairman Brian Hart was able to run a very orderly AGM with good participation from members, when they remembered to unmute their microphones!

Reports from all the Officers had been circulated to members ahead of the meeting by Secretary Pat Hart and were agreed to be taken as read. The Chairman spoke to his report, reviewing the three years of his second term as Chair. Brian and Pat will be relocating in the near future to Devon, to be closer to their children and their families, but they intend to retain their close association with Sarum.

Treasurer Jeff Butt presented the annual accounts. He reported that these had now been audited and a slight adjustment made. The meeting voted to approve the audited accounts.

With Brian and Pat Hart coming to the end of their terms there was a need to elect some new Officers and Committee. Nominations received were: Ian Peirce – Chair; Mark White- Deputy Chair; Hugh Holmes – Secretary; Jeff Butt – Treasurer; Rebecca Price – Membership Secretary; Liz Yeadon – Fixtures Secretary; Alice Thirkell –Junior Representative; Alan Yeadon – Permanent Orienteering Courses. Hugh, Becca and Andrew Graham have all volunteered to look after the SI computer and timing systems. No doubt other members will be prepared to help out at events.

On behalf of the Club Peter Hambleton and Paul Lane both thanked all on the outgoing committee for their work on behalf of Sarum and wished Pat and Brian good luck in their move to deepest Devon.

Here are your new committee – just in case you ever bump into them and wonder who they are! [Images to come soon]
