Sarum’s last training evening of the summer took place on the small but perfectly formed Victoria Park. Though not blessed by the bright sun of previous club evenings the rain did clear up in time for everyone to enjoy the exercise and the amazing sunset. We were delighted to welcome newcomers Orla and Esma with Mum Samantha from Bruton nr. Chippenham and their Aussie friends Dave and Jazz who kept up the international flavour started last year when a Canadian family dropped in.
Ricky designed some interesting courses that fitted well into the small park and required the use of many of the skills honed in the previous sessions such as navigating without clue sheets to precise points, map memory and a challenging tree only course using a map that had most other features removed. Ricky managed somehow to catch out just about everyone of the club members. Peter held the record for the longest first leg using the excuse that he met an old friend en route and spent 10 minutes chatting.

That just about concludes the practical training sessions but club socials will continue over the winter months, so keep an eye out on the web site for details.
