Club Evening #6: Hudson’s Field

The 6th Club training session of the year was held at Hudson’s Field, below the ramparts of Old Sarum. Although this appears to be a bland open area organiser Liz Yeadon managed to use the available features to plan 4 courses for seniors with a fiendish maze to add some spice. A small, but focused group of 9 seniors and 1 junior, including two newcomers, tackled the evening’s challenges.

It was a lovely sunny evening and the adults gamely tried several of the 4 courses back to back to give themselves a good run!  Each course was only about 1/ 1.3km long but the skill was to get to the correct side of the feature , guided only by the control description as they have no control numbers to guide them – so accuracy whilst at speed were the practice skills. The Juniors had the control descriptions which made it easier & safer for them!

Shane Wilkinson was on hand to take some great pictures.

The last training evening of this year will be at Victoria Park on Tuesday Sept. 19th at 6:30 where the Trees will feature strongly.
