Chairman Ian Peirce made banner headlines with photo to match in The Salisbury Journal this week (go to http://www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/sport/13318846.Chairman_benefits_in_Lake_District/ for online report).
It’s a long drive to the Lake District just for two races but for Sarum Orienteers’ Chairman Ian Peirce it was one well worth taking on. Competing in the two day Twin Peaks event Ian produced a fine run on Day 1 on Place Fell and turned in a second winning run at Angle Tarn on Day 2 to win the M70 class three minutes ahead of his nearest rival.
Nearer home, Sarum runners competed in two urban orienteering events in Poole and Sherborne. Carolyn Dent (W50) had the pick of the Sarum results with 3rd place in Poole and a splendid 1st place the following day in Sherborne.
