Laverstock Country Park Permanent Orienteering Course

On Saturday 24th. March Alan Yeadon, Lucy Butt, Adam Walker, Pat Hart and Brian Hart ran a Sarum Orienteering Club display at the information event for the proposed Laverstock Country Park in Salisbury. A surpisingly large number of people attended and much interest was shown not only in our proposed permanent orienteering course but also in orienteering in general.

Lucy enjoyed a long series of jokes from a 6 year old. One of which was “Why did the tortoise cross the road?” Lucy gave up and was told – “I will tell you when it gets to the other side!!!”

The whole event was really enjoyable and it was encouraging that orienteering generated so much interest. We look forward to installing the permanent orienteering course in about 18 months time if plans proceed as expected.
