Wessex Night League – Tisbury

Three successive local events, covering just about all the forms of orienteering on foot, culminated on the Monday evening with Sarum’s contribution to the Wessex Night League using our map of Tisbury.

37 competitors turned on their lights to take on an Odds and Evens score race. The hilly surroundings coupled with some clever planning made for a challenging event with only 6 runners managing to get a maximum 500 points score within the hour time limit. Alan Blanchflower of WSX came in first place with Dan Cope and Hugh Holmes the best placed Sarum runners in 4th and 5th respectively.

The dry weather of the weekend continued, which was a good thing as the maps were printed with non- waterproof ink.

Thanks go to Planner Andrew Graham, Controller Liz Yeadon and Organiser Charlotte Thornton who worked hard to put on this event.
