Mixed, mainly deciduous woodland with generally good runnability except where forest thinning has taken place in the last couple of years, which has resulted in localised patches of brashings. The area has one large hill and some sloping hills and a fairly extensive path network. Thinning has improved visibility but worsened runnability; the green-striped slow run undergrowth screen shows the affected areas. As well as the brashings, you may encounter small piles of logs, unmarked holes, trenches and military debris. Most motorcycle tracks have been mapped, although a few recently created have not; this does not influence navigation. Military vehicles have churned up some of the main tracks and rides and when wet, it can be very slippery; in particular, take care on the southern part of the map. There are many crossing points marked over the barbed wire fence which surrounds the hill fort. These are styles or gates and their use is mandatory for crossing the barbed wire fence.
